How To Remove Lash Extensions (Safely) At Home

If you wear lash extensions and need to remove at home, no worries! I just removed mine in about 10 minutes. There’s a few stragglers still hanging on but they should come off on their own later today or tomorrow.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Wash your face as usual.

2. Fill a mixing bowl with steaming-hot water, place your face over it, and drape a large towel over your head for 10 to 15 minutes OR take a hot shower and let the steam from the shower do the work. I chose the latter cause I’m all about multi-tasking 😉

Steam will help loosen the bonds of the eyelash extension glue.

3. Dip a cotton ball, cosmetic pad, or makeup sponge in olive oil and gently swipe your upper and lower lash lines, making sure not to get any of the oil in your eyes. This will give the extensions “slip” and help them slide right off your eye.

You should see the false lashes come off on the sponge or cotton ball, or notice them falling onto your counter top or sink.

4. Take the excess olive oil and smooth over your face and massage into your hands. Olive oil is a great natural moisturizer and won’t clog your pores!
