Spring 2019 Trends

Spring is in now in full-swing and last weekend I attended the inaugural Twin City Fashion Week shows at the Millenium Center in downtown Winston-Salem to find out what’s trending this season. Although I attended both nights, my favorite at any fashion week event is always the Emerging Designers show. I like to see a fresh perspective from our local talent and their unique designs that aren’t “off the rack”.

This season is going to be full of feminine, flirty designs with lots of bold colors, ruffles, and patterns paired with soft  hair and makeup. To my delight there were several jumpsuits and pant suits in anything but basic colors, including navy and teal. The dresses ranged from sheer, flowy, feminine pieces to classic basics in standout colors. There was literally something for every body at the Friday night show and I’ve included some of my personal favorites in the slideshow below.

Make sure to check out this year’s emerging designers and consider purchasing some of their one-of-a-kind pieces: Cassidy BurelApril Whiting, Sarah Woods, and Jatcie Williams. If you want something that doesn’t look like what everyone else is wearing, and practically guarantees that no one shows up in the same outfit as you, then buying from one of these super talented, emerging designers is where it’s at. To see more of the fabulous designs, including local boutiques and national brands, and some of the red carpet styles, make sure to follow Twin City Fashion Week on Facebook and Instagram
