Quarantine Hair Color
I had been using my tried and true L’Oreal Root Cover Up but my roots grew out to the point that I couldn’t take it anymore. So, I caved and touched up my roots at home ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ But not before doing lots of research on which hair color would be best for my hair type. My hair type being 50% (resistant) gray, fine, and my color of choice being red which is notorious for not having the staying power of other hues. Iโd heard really good things about Madison Reed hair color so I went to their site, took their color quiz, and found my perfect match…. If only dating were this easy ๐
Iโve colored my hair at home in the past, but never done a root touch up, so I enlisted the help of my sis and made a girls night out of it. The kit comes with everything you need, including barrier cream and cleansing wipes. One thing I noticed immediately is there is no harsh smell! Plus, itโs made with keratin, argan oil, and ginseng root extract and free of ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, PPD, phthalates, & gluten.
The process was quick & easy with just a 35 minute processing time. I have some pretty resistant grays and this stuff covered them completely! The result was a beautiful multi-tone, medium golden red – the color shown on the box is exactly what I got and it left my hair so soft! With results that rival salon color and at a fraction of the price, I think this may have been a blessing in disguise. Even though salons have opened back up, I think I’m going to keep the girls night out color dates with my sis (she’s now a convert, as well) and save the salon visits for cut & style only.

You can purchase your own directly from the Madison Reed website or at Ulta Beauty. Make sure to visit https://www.madison-reed.com/ to take their quiz to get your perfect match before purchasing!
